1937
The roots of the Mosolf family
Movement runs in the Mosolf family’s blood. Horst Mosolf’s father, Richard Mosolf, focused on motor power early on and used a bus to conduct furniture transports as well as trips into the countryside.
1955
The beginning of a success story
15 March 1955 – receipt of the 1st license and establishment of the carrying company “Horst Mosolf Spedition und Transporte” in Kirchheim/Teck.
1963
The first sites
Recognising the signs of the times, Horst Mosolf also got into the export business: In 1963 he established his first subsidiary in the Belgian port of Antwerp in order to ship vehicles produced in Germany overseas.
1972
Opening of the 1st distribution centre in Illingen for the Stuttgart region with an area of several thousand square metres and its own railway connection
1976
Development of the locations Saarlouis and Überherrn in Saarland. The latter already had an area of 450,000 square metres and storage capacity for 14,000 vehicles.
1980
Developing network expertise // expansion in Europe
With his sons Peter, Jörg and Michael on board, Horst Mosolf continued along his visionary path to build up the international network by developing new markets and offering new services. The technical and logistical network in Germany and Europe was extended with the expansion of business activities in Spain, Portugal and France in the 1980s.
1983
MOSOLF took over the technology and logistics centre in Kippenheim from the FIAT Group. In the 1990s the location became a service centre for the professional conversion of special purpose vehicles for authorities such as the police or craftsmen with special requirements.
1987
New construction and relocation of the central administration to the new building on Dettinger Straße in Kirchheim/Teck.
1989
Upheaval in the east
The fall of the Berlin Wall created upheaval in eastern Germany. MOSOLF opened technology and logistics hubs in the newly formed German states.
1991
Creation of a technology and logistics centre in Glauchau, Saxony.
1993
On 27 May 1993 the foundation was laid for the new technology and logistics centre in Etzin.
1995
Era of globalisation – Mosolf expanded its network in Germany and central Europe
Establishment of the Carcenter in Zeebrugge.
1998
Strategically important markets in central Europe were opened with the establishment of the MLT and MCT in Hambach (France), the MOSTVA in Warsaw (Poland) and the MAL in Dobrovice (the Czech Republic).
1999
The company set sail. Operations commenced at the technical services and logistics centre at the Düsseldorf Rhine port. Vehicles of different manufacturers could now be shipped downstream to the North Sea ports and from there overseas in large numbers.
2005
MOSOLF celebrated its 50th anniversary. As part of the company anniversary, Horst Mosolf looked back: A significant success factor is our staff, whom I would like to thank with all my heart. It was always important to me to maintain personal contact and create a family-like atmosphere.
2007
The company decided to expand its rail activities and in future also to perform transport by rail. MAR (MOSOLF Automotive Railway) was founded.
2014
With the establishment of MOSOLF Retail Solutions GmbH, MOSOLF entered the market for the performance of services on-site at dealerships.
2015
The MOSOLF Group celebrated its 60th company anniversary
With an unwavering drive, the 87-year-old company founder Horst Mosolf remarked: “I have enough ideas for 20 years! Unfortunately I will not be able to see them all through. But, as always, the work brings me great joy!”
2016
Horst Mosolf was inducted into the Logistics Hall of Fame as a pioneer of vehicle logistics.
2016
MOSOLF took over the special vehicle builder Baumeister & Trabandt in Korschenbroich. B & T Solutions as a strong partner for police, fire brigades, aid organisations, private security firms and companies with small and large vehicle fleets.
2017
MOSOLF took over all shares of SAT Sächsische Autotransport und Service GmbH. This turned the automotive logistics company established in 1991 as a 50:50 joint venture with the Schnellecke Group into a wholly owned subsidiary of the MOSOLF Group.
2018
Development of MOSOLF Automotive Releasing Solutions GmbH based in Rüsselsheim.
2018
Integration of the vehicle logisitician and fleet service provider AUTOKONTOR Bayern GmbH to strengthen the used vehicle business.
2019
New strategically important locations were established in Paris/Vatry (F), Bytom (PL) and Wilhelmshafen (in the export port).
2021
CAT MOSOLF Polska – merger between the Polish subsidiary of the MOSOLF Group, MOSTVA, and CAT Polen.
2022
Completion and commissioning of the 1st construction phase of the photovoltaic car park roof in Rackwitz.
2023
Start of the port logistics as a new business field in Wilhelmshaven.

Commissioning of the first five fully electric car transports in Düsseldorf and Illingen.
